Magic Truffles
Magic truffles, also known as sclerotia, are a type of psychedelic substance that is structurally similar to “magic mushrooms” (psilocybin mushrooms).
Magic Truffles contain the psychoactive compounds psilocybin and psilocin, which can cause hallucinations, changes in perception, and altered thinking and emotional states when consumed. Magic Truffles are often used for spiritual or therapeutic purposes

FAQ
Our magic truffles are grown on a specialised mycological farm, nestled in the greenery of Holland. Using the latest techniques of clean farming, while also respecting the processes of Mother Nature, we ensure our product is 100% pesticide free. Our magic truffles grow in nutrient-packed grains called ‘substrate’. The substrate is inncolulated with the highest quality mycelium cultures, developing and growing in a temperature controlled environment — which both prevents contamination and creates the ideal conditions for the mycelium to grow. The young sclerotia are then hand-picked just for you!
The effects of magic truffles will of course vary based on your dosage and the strain you choose. However, there will be similarities between all trips. As a rule people find their psychedelic experiences enjoyable and enriching. Here is a list of the general effects of a psilocybin trip:
- Feelings of connection with the self, the universe and nature
- Spiritual awakening and insight
- Peacefulness
- Euphoria
- Quickly changing emotions/mood
- Detachment from reality, as if in a dream state
- Visual effects — alterations and distortions
- Hallucinations
- Unusual bodily sensations
- Extraordinary thoughts and thinking patterns
Due to these effects you will experience during a trip, it is key that you choose to do it in an appropriate and safe environment, especially if it is your first time.
To get the fullest effect from your magic truffles we recommend taking them on an empty stomach. When it comes to actually ingesting them though, there are two main methods that people swear by:
Chewing: It’s simple but it works! The easiest way to ingest your magic truffles is by chewing them. And by chewing, we mean thoroughly. The idea is to break down the truffles as much as possible to aid the release of the psychoactive compounds within. For people who dislike the taste of magic truffles, a common way to cover it up is with some dark chocolate.
Brewing tea: The second most popular way to ingest magic truffles is by brewing them in a tea. This is also a good one for people who don’t love the taste, or are prone to nausea. Simply chop up your truffles into smaller pieces, pour them into some hot (but not boiling!) water, and leave to infuse for 10-20 minutes, then drink it all down. For the full instructions check out our magic truffle tea guide.
Although it varies from strain to strain, as a rule the dosages for the different levels of magic truffle trip are:
Microdose: 0.5-1g
Low dose: 5-10g
Medium dose: 10-15g
High dose: 15-20g
‘Heroic’ dose: 25g+ (only for real psychonauts)
If you are tripping with our most potent psilocybin truffles, such as Qubit or Maakali you should reduce your dosage size to reflect this.
Our fresh magic truffles are vacuum packed and therefore airtight, keeping the freshness in. It is exactly like the packaging used in the food industry. With this technology your magic truffles can stay fresh for +/- 2 months when unopened and stored in the fridge. Once opened magic truffles can be kept fresh in the fridge for +/- 1-2 weeks. It is good to remember that magic truffles are a living organism so the sooner you consume them the fresher, and therefore more potent they will be.
Unopened: the best way to store unopened magic truffles is in the fridge at 4°C.
Once opened: the best way to store your truffles once open is in the fridge at 4°C. To prevent water damage, remove them from the vacuum pack and place them on top of toilet paper or an unbleached paper towel. This will absorb the moisture from the fridge.
Magic Truffles or Sclerotium are psilocybin fungus grown underground and share the same effects/ingredients as magic mushrooms.
Classically known as “philosophers’ stones,” these hallucinogenics have been ranked as one of the safest drugs to consume, medically beneficial, and absolutely no potential for addiction.
These stones give you psychedelic experiences filled with visuals, relaxation, creative and pensive thoughts.
Side effects of magic truffles vary by user, dosage, environment, and fungi species.
The most common side effects create a trip and can include:
Mental:
- Intense visual effects
- Creativity
- Deep psychological insight
- Positive feelings of wonder
- Warped perception of time and space
- Sharpened senses
- Feeling like you’re in a dream state
Physical:
- Relaxed muscles
- Thirst
- Naseau
- Sensitive Stomach
- Large pupils
Keep in mind that your environment and state of mind will affect your trip. Sometimes a trip can become so intense, that you experience a heightened sense of anxiety and panic.
Just remember that your psychedelic experience is only temporary (for several hours).
Magic mushrooms and magic truffles are virtually the same in trip effects and intensity.
They both come from the same organism, which is the mycelial organism and both contain psilocybin.
The distinct difference between them is that shrooms are the reproductive organ which releases spores. And magic truffles are the underground powerhouses which store energy for the mycelium.
You can read more The Differences between Magic Mushrooms and Magic Truffles.
On an empty stomach, chew the sclerotia very very well. That way, all the active substances are absorbed by your body.
A more effective method is diluting your magic truffles in a nice cup of tea.
You can also mix it in with water/beer/wine for 1 hour and then consume your drink. Let that be your only glass of alcohol! Drunk trippers do stupid things!
Never combine mind-altering substances like MDMA, cocaine, ketamine together with magic truffles.
Just remember that it’s better if your trip was too mild than if it would be too strong! There is always a next time to try. On that note, safe and fun tripping!
For beginners, it is widely recommended to take about 5 grams of fresh magic truffles.
For regular dose, 10-15 grams is suitable.
For experienced users, 15-20 grams for a heavy trip.
For the real psychonauts, 35-45 grams as the highest level.
15 grams is the amount we provide for our ready to eat truffles. Some people have higher tolerances and need more.
Keep in mind, dosages also have to do with weight and body mass of each person as well as the strength of the species. With our stronger species like QUBIT or MAAKALI, you can split one portion of 15 grams with multiple people.
Unopened magic truffles: -/+ 2 months in the fridge at 4° Celsius.
After opening: -/+ 1-2 weeks in the fridge at 4° Celsius.
Warmer temperatures affect shelf life. In the summer, we recommend you order magic truffle kits (PANDORA’S BOX). These do not need to be stored in the fridge, and stay potent for several months.
Unopened magic truffles: in the fridge, at 4° Celsius.
After opening: in the fridge at 4° Celsius. Remove them from the vacuum seal and place them on top of toilet paper or unbleached paper towel. The paper will absorb moisture from the fridge, and prevent water damage.
If you consume magic truffles very often, you will quickly realize that the effects are less intense. This is because you may be tripping frequently and without breaks of at least 2 weeks.
This is because our bodies quickly build a tolerance towards magic truffles which makes the effect less intense.
We recommend you wait at least 2 weeks before tripping again.
Yes you can mix different magic truffles.
Psilocybin truffles have the psychoactive compounds: psilocin and psilocybin. Mixing different strains together means you can explore different range of trips. Some become more visual, or more philosophical, or more colorful.
We do not recommend you mix your psilocybin truffles with other substances like MDMA, cocaine, ketamine, etc.
Vacuum sealed magic truffles are air tight packages, used exactly like in the food industry. It makes it safe to transport, and most importantly prevents contamination of the truffles.
With vacuum seal, our magic truffles can also be preserved for +/- 2 months, because the air tight packaging means less oxygen, and more carbon dioxide. These gas levels block from normal air and are called modified atmosphere conditions.
Applying modified atmospheric conditions is a well established technique to pack vegetables and fruit, including mushrooms. Gas levels are created by natural means. Respiratory activity of the packed living products using oxygen and producing carbon dioxide, drives the changes in gas levels. The packaging limits gas exchange to a point where a stable condition is established. Tuning the packaging properties to that of the respiring product was done on the basis of extensive research.
We highly advise against freezing your magic truffles, because it loses a lot of potency and consistency.
What is Microdosing Psilocybin?
Microdosing is the future of wellness. It involves taking a very low (sub-threshold) dosage of a psychedelic, such as psilocybin, from magic mushrooms. Despite producing no hallucinogenic effects, those who practice microdosing report a wide range of positive health benefits. Recently this has been verified by scientific research which has found psychedelics to be highly effective at treating depression and other mental health complaints…
How to microdose with psilocybin
Once you have purchased your psilocybin Microdosing XP Psilocybin Strip, getting started is easy:
We recommend that you wash down your microdose with water like a pill rather than chewing. This means that the psilocybin magic is slowly released throughout the day, creating sustained effect. Because of this we also recommend taking on a full stomach, i.e. after breakfast. This also prevents steep come-ups / come-downs as well as reducing nausea if you are prone to it.
So basically: Get up. Eat Breakfast. Swallow 1 portion (1g of magic truffles) of Microdosing XP with water. Start your day…

FAQ
As a rule, we do not recommend that you microdose every day. This could reduce the desired positive benefits. However, there are two methods that remain the most popular. These are:
Option 1:
Every 3 days. This consists of microdosing on the 1st day of your choice and then not microdosing again for the next two. So: Dose, rest, rest, dose, etc. On your rest days you are likely to feel the continued afterglow of your microdose. This is also known as the ‘Fadiman Method’ as it was perfected and popularised by psychedelic guru James Fadiman
Option 2:
Every other day. Microdose on your chosen day, rest the second. Then repeat. Easy!
There are many reported benefits of microdosing psilocybin. These are from both scientific research as well as reams of anecdotal accounts.
The benefits tend to be:
- Improved mental health (such as a reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms)
- Enhanced performance
- Improved and eased social interactions
- Improved creativity
- An increase in energy
- Higher focus
- Increased concentration
- Relief from physical symptoms (such as tension, head and muscle aches)
- Soothed menstrual cramps and mood.
Swallow your microdose (1g of magic truffles) with water on a full stomach. Repeat either every 3 days or every other day, depending on what suits you. You can also choose to microdose just when the symptoms of complaints such as cluster headaches or premenstrual tension arise.
We do not recommend microdosing every day. This is because with continuous use you can build up a tolerance to psilocybin, and hence would not reap the benefits of the microdose. Many people also recommend completing a microdose cycle of 3 to 6 weeks and then reviewing your experience. Journal how you felt each day and over time — were the effects too mild / too strong? This way you can discover what is the right routine for you.
Psilocybin microdosing has recently garnered some well deserved attention. In the 2010s it became a hit with Silicon Valley, a tool for optimising their already optimised brains. As interest grew, scientists were able to back it up through real research.Over the last 5 years, microdosing took huge steps to break into the mainstream consciousness as well as the medical arena.
The idea of taking a psychedelic substance to “not to trip” sounds a little strange to some. Is there any point? So, why would anyone microdose? Well, psilocybin microdosing (one of the main focuses of microdosing studies) has proved to have many benefits:
- An increase in creativity, alertness and focus
- More energy and enthusiasm
- A greater awareness and connection to one’s surroundings
- More open and appreciative to social settings and forming relationships
If these benefits sound too good to be true, there is a wealth of testimonial and growing clinical evidence to support these claims. It’s exciting!
This full history of microdosing is hard to be certain of, but the practice most likely dawned from the creation of LSD (way back in the 1930s). Although there is no ‘hard’ evidence, one can be sure that if there were mind-altering substances about, people were experimenting.
But, let’s jump forward to the year 2011, for this is when microdosing made its true debut on the world stage — ushered in by psychedelic pioneer: James Fadiman.
In 2011 Fadiman published The Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide, (a great read for any psychonaut or science fan). It introduced the idea of microdosing to the mainstream and broadened the conversation on psychedelics in general.
In the book, Fadiman laid out a regulated and simple schedule of how a person should microdose. The standard routine he encouraged was a course of taking a morning microdose once every three days (see Option 1).
While the numerous trip reports stood as strong evidence for the case of microdosing, the fight for true experimentation for future use had to be taken up by larger, more in-depth studies with the ability to gain proper government clearance.
Small scale clinical studies and trials started to take place in both the US and across Europe around the 2010s. With the growing reputable data, microdosing as a practice was starting to build a case for itself.
Many more trials are taking place as we speak, and the 2020s stands to be a year of great advancement for psychedelic microdosing as a cutting edge medical practice.
Though the field of microdosing as a science is not much older than a teen, the evidence so far has been largely encouraging. There is no doubt it will become a regular practice over the coming decade. For many people it already is.
Due to hard working researchers and influencers carrying out both trials and awareness campaigns, the world of psychedelic microdosing grows every day. Its history and promising future increasingly cements it as a major development in the world of pharmaceuticals.
It is not recommended to microdose everyday. We recommend that you microdose our fresh magic truffle strips, one dose – every 3 days or every second day in order to guarantee the best results. This is to give your system the rest it needs.
Yes it can – small amounts of psilocybin will not produce “high” effects, but will have subtle effects, like alleviating mental barriers, like anxiety and depression.

Both microdosing on LSD and microdosing on psilocybin produce similar results – feelings of productivity, better headspace for introspection, and uplifting mood. The biggest difference is that psilocybin mushrooms are grown naturally, and LSD is a synthetic drug from a laboratory.
This comes down to preference – many prefer ingesting a more natural, “earthy,” experience; since LSD is a manmade drug, there is the conversation and concern of where it’s really coming from. Both do not have harmful bodily effects, but it’s always best to play it safe. Magic truffles may be preferred because it’s legal in The Netherlands, and web shops like Wholecelium can guarantee better success rates and stand by our product (because they’re natural).
Our Microdosing XP shelf life is 2 months unopened.
